now how about some reviews!

The Great Glass Elevator – HAVING BEEN SWIMMING: 16 tracks on this “Orange Entropy” CD release. The trio is self-described psych-rock, & (surprisingly enough) had (just) a tinge of that early psychedelic energy that we used to feel when our joints set the woods on fire (out behind the Army barracks, while stationed in Germany). The recording suffers a bit from slightly sloppy intros, not quite precise enough for my tastes, but the main body of (most of) the songs could almost take one back (or izzat forward) to bananna peel frenzy. I really dug on track # 4, “Outback”... not sure why, just felt good I guess. For the retro-psych fan, this clocks in with a RECOMMENDED. The Great Glass Elevator(MP3 Review)...If you're over forty-five years old, prepare for a potential flashback as this New Jersey outfit recreates the Psychedelic, Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd. Wispy vocals, swirling organs, lazy drums, and the occasional flute seal the deal for people of all ages. –Listen.com
The Great Glass Elevator(MP3.com site) .....Self described as an Indie-Pop Psych-Alt-Non-Genre Band from New Jersey, The Great Glass Elevator oozes politically correct psychedelia. The band manages to walk the fine line between Pop and diving down the rabbit hole with Alice. Wrapped around the core man Steve Zimmerman, TGGE arranges their psych-Pop tunes with an emphasis on catchy beats and accessible, if odd, lyrics. A download of "Look At The Hippo" is a definite must. Pseudo power chords in the background and slamming vocals mixed with the waltz time and (they just can't help it) pretty harmonies. Think "Why Don't We Do It In The Road" meets Barney... A few glitches on backround harmonies here and there- especially on "Spartus" . Probably more of an issue of not hearing themselves well enough when cutting the tracks. Lyrics are witty in places, mostly light. "Lagoon" has the best groove out of the three cuts I heard, especially at the end (where I wish it would keep going...). All in all, solidly produced, well arranged, worthwhile stuff. Unique, nicely recorded, and worth your time. -- Pamela Zero(MP3Reviews.com)
